A Multitude of Sins: Editing Update & Book Teaser

Hi everyone, and welcome to the blog for my books. My first book that I am currently working on editing for publication is entitled A Multitude of Sins. To find out more information on it, you can check out the Coming Soon tab up at the top of the page. As I work my way through the editing process, I'll keep you all updated here as well as post little teasers from the book. To start things off, I am currently about 25% of the way through the necessary edits, and am hoping to have them all completed and the book available for sale by the end of September, hopefully sooner if time allows.

Also, here is a small teaser from the beginning of the book:

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit…” Father Barrett began, faltering as his eyes fell upon her, causing him to lose his train of thought as he felt stirrings within his body…ones he hadn’t had to truly deal with for years. Channeling his focus onto God had helped to keep those feelings in check, but now a wave of guilt struck him. It may not be in the bible, Shane mused to himself, but he was pretty sure that being a priest and sporting wood while conducting mass was frowned upon.

The altar boy cleared his throat, a subtle reminder to Father Barrett that he had indeed stopped mid-sentence and needed to continue on with the mass.

“…Spirit be with you all,” Father Barrett managed to stutter out as he concluded the opening rites and proceeded to go through the rest of the mass in a daze. He couldn’t even recall what he said during the homily because he was so mesmerized by the soulful brown eyes staring back at him from the pew in the first row. This is wrong he chastised himself. Father Barrett continued to reprimand himself, giving himself reminders that he had taken vows and made promises to God, and that more importantly, so had the woman he was now so taken with as she sat there, listening intently throughout mass in her habit, for the woman who had unknowingly turned Father Barrett’s world upside down was one of the religious sisters who taught in the school.
